A New Arrival – A Word From The Editor

Dearest Britball Nation,

I’m very proud and pleased to announce that on Friday 5 October I welcomed my first son into the world. Through five days of trips in and out of hospital, a roller coast of ups and downs, his mum absolutely bossed it and I’ve got a new little baller in the family.

I hope you can all appreciate however, it’s gonna mean some pretty momentous changes for us, and so while there’s no such thing as ‘paternity leave’ for someone in my position, essentially a self-employed writer, we are gonna need some time to find our feet as a newly expanded family.

Conveniently, his arrival does coincide with something of a lull in the Britball calendar but even so we’ll still try to keep the Nation up to date with news and announcements – just don’t be surprised if we also have some very quiet patches.

As mentioned previously, I’ll also be taking some time to further consider the practicalities of DC continuing in its current format. While the current plan is to build up to and provide full coverage of the upcoming BUCS season, as things stand we’re most likely not in a position to see out the full season.

I’m sure you can all appreciate that priorities have a habit of shifting when family situations change.

There are still options I’m exploring, and I’d truly welcome input from any who wish to assist with sustaining DC and all it brings to the community – just get in touch either via our Facebook page, or at editor@dblcoverage.com.
