A Quiet Few Days – A Word From The Editor

With DC’s one full-timer spending much of the next few days ‘otherwise engaged’, just a quick heads up that we’re likely to see a drop off in the amount of content shared:

Dearest Britball Nation,

As many of you will be aware I’ve been preparing for some time now for the arrival of my first child. Apparently, like many rookies, he’s got poor time-keeping and is currently two weeks overdue.

While we were somewhat relieved he didn’t arrive unexpectedly early during Britbowl weekends and thus need to be named ‘John Charles’ (which, at least, would be an awful lot better than naming him ‘Sixways’), his particular lateness now means we’re likely to spend much of the next few days in hospital working with our awesome NHS to safely and soundly bring him into the world.

Once he’s here, I’m sure you’ll appreciate we’ll need a bit of time to find our feet as a newly expanded family, too.

I’ll try to ensure the site does still share some content as there’s still a lot of awesome stuff going on across the community, though it’s helpful that this timing conveniently aligns with something of a lull in the British season.

As I’ve mentioned in previous pieces, I’ll also be taking some time to further consider the practicalities of DC continuing in its current format. While the current plan is to build up to and provide full coverage of the upcoming BUCS season, as things stand we’re most likely not in a position to see out the full season.

I’m sure you can all appreciate that priorities have a habit of shifting when family situations change.

There are still options I’m exploring, and I’d truly welcome input from any who wish to assist with sustaining DC and all it brings to the community – just get in touch either via our Facebook page, or at editor@dblcoverage.com.
