Graz Giants 9 – Vienna Vikings 6

Swarco Raiders 43 – Danube Dragons 14

Any week which sees the Vikings get beat is a slightly odd one in the AFL, but when they don’t score a touchdown AND lose to the winless Giants just seems absurd, that’s how dominant the Vikings have been recently. With that said, they have had a couple of close escapes to the lesser teams recently and their run of luck was bound to catch up to them at some point and the Giants were the beneficiaries on this occasion. Three interceptions from Dominik Potsch made him the Graz’s hero of the day, sending the Vikings to their first home loss since 2010 and marking the first time the Giants have beaten the Vikings in six years.

In the other game of the week, the Raiders continued their strong run with a big win over the Dragons on the road. Behind the efforts of star running back Andreas Hofbauer and his four touchdowns, the Raiders put themselves in sole possession of the number one spot in the AFL for the first time in over a year.
