The British American Football Association have shared details of this year’s BAFA National Leagues Finals, including the date and location of all Adult and Under 19’s Division One Championship fixtures!
This summer will see the Britbowl weekend itself return to the capital, as the Division Two South Final, Division One National Final, U19’s Division One National Championship and Adult National Championship will all be hosted across the weekend of the 31 August/1 September at New River Stadium in London.
Meanwhile the Division Two North final will be held at Druids Park, home of the Northumberland Vikings, the following weekend, Sunday 8 September.
In order to create a festival of football feel, BAFA are bringing together as many contact finals as possible into two weekend events in August and September in London and Woolsington, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The D2 South final, D1 National final, D1 Junior Britbowl and Premiership Britbowl events will take place on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September at White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, also known as the New River Stadium, in London. Tickets details for both days will be confirmed nearer the time.
The stadium is the host for both rugby league and athletics and has previously hosted American Football. The New River Stadium also hosts the Middlesex 9s rugby league nines tournament. The stadium is within walking distance of White Hart Lane football stadium. The grandstand at the ground holds approximately 1,000 people, while the ground itself has a capacity of 5,000.
The D2 North finals will take place the following weekend, on Sunday 8 September 2019, at Druid Park, in Woolsington, Newscastle upon Tyne. This was the venue for the Division Two North final in 2018. It was felt preferable to keep the D2 North final in this area, to assist participating teams with travel arrangements.
