BAFA NL | Fixtures Updates Week Five

With so much football going on across the Britball Nation, it’s no surprise that certain fixtures end up in a state of flux!

As the season continues to ramp up, we’ll do our best to keep you all in the know when it comes to any updates to fixtures shifting or falling off the slate:

Sharks short on numbers, push back fixture versus Warriors

Though it’s yet early in the summer, the Cornish Sharks have asked to push back their second fixture of the season versus the South Wales Warriors with the Cornish team, that opened the season with only around twenty-three players on their opening day gameday roster, short on numbers available for this weekend.

We’re currently hearing the game has been rearranged for 23rd of June.

Homeless Sentinels unable to take the field versus Romans

Unable to secure a venue for Sunday, the Carlisle Sentinels’ fixture versus the Chester Romans will now be played at the Romans – the Week Seven meeting between the two, subsequently hosted by the Sentinels.

Update: While the Romans were able to host, we’re hearing the Carlisle Sentinels have been forced to forfeit this fixture – short on players able to actually make the trip after the team was unable to secure transport for an away fixture at short notice.

Chorley Buccaneers’ U19s drop from slate

While we can’t yet confirm which teams are/are not participating in the U17 or U19 leagues this season, nor share a full schedule for either format, we can at least let you know that the Buccaneers’ planned hosting of the Nottingham Caesars this Sunday will not be going ahead.

London Warriors/Herts Cheetahs U19 fixture in jeopardy as teams seek  venue

We’re hearing rumblings that the Under 19’s fixture between two promising southern programmes – the London Warriors and Hertfordshire Cheetahs – is currently in a state of flux as there’s no confirmed venue for this fixture.

We’ll try to keep you apprised of any further updates.

Pumas vs Cardinals lacking Refs – may not go ahead not going ahead

We’re hearing rumblings that the Maidstone Pumas game versus the Ipswich Cardinals this Sunday is currently up in the air due to a lack of available BAFRA officials.  As we understand it, the teams are unable/unwilling to play the game with stand-in officials and currently struggling to agree a date to reschedule.

Game is off, per Ipswich Cardinals statement earlier today:
