Birmingham Lions Are Six-Time Sapphire Champs!

The top teams in the British Women’s contact game descended on Keele this Saturday, with a sixth Sapphire Series National Championship on the line!

All four teams had put together impressive regular series – each proving themselves worthy title contenders¬†–¬† for the first time in quite some time no team was coming into the finals undefeated, each outfit having gotten the better of their respective rivals at least once this season.

As such, it was expected to be the most hotly contested Sapphire Finals in years, and did not disappoint – four hard-hitting fixtures ensued, and when the dust settled the defending champs, the Birmingham Lions, had secured their sixth-straight Sapphire Series title!
