Bristol Apache Announce new Defensive Coordinator

The Bristol Academy Apache have emerged as a true powerhouse in Division Two, with a playoff appearances for their last three campaigns and going undefeated through their 2017 regular season.

This week they made their first announcement of 2018, with the appointment of a new Defensive Coordinator.

Bristol Academy Apache American Football Team are pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Prosser as Defensive Coordinator for the 2018 Season

Shane has a long history with Bristol Football and is excited to add this new position to his repetoir.

Shane started playing at the age of 15 in 2008 for the Aztec Juniors/Youth team and progressed through the ranks. He joined Bristol Academy PRIDE in its pilot year and was selected to the all European high school team. He was also a captain for both Pride and Aztecs Juniors/Youth and was part of the team that won the Championship with Aztec Youth in 2010 in their penulmate year in the league.

Shane went on to Coach at PRIDE, coaching OL, Defensive Box and DC and helped launched the BACL alongside Coach Ben Herod and Coach Dan Maher. He also played for the UWE Bullets as well as coaching their Linebackers before he took a short break from football.

Shane returned in 2017 to play for the Bristol Apache and was an instrumental part of their Conference winning 10-0 regular season defence.

Shane is currently the Defensive Coordinator at the UWE Bullets.
