This past weekend, the Renegades faced their stiffest test of the season so far, as they faced a strong DC Divas outfit in the US Capital.
The Renegades came into the game expecting their toughest challenge of the season so far, and the Divas did not disappoint. Though the Renegades went into the half with a fair lead (16-34), the hosts made a game of it in the second half as they closed the gap, while holding Boston to only a single field goal.
Having already picked herself up a rushing score in the first half, the Renegades leant heavily on Matta’s ability to bust out big rushing plays in the third and fourth quarters, Mattas pace and dexterity chewing up both yards, and more importantly the clock, as she ground out 131 yards of offence, averaging an incredible 10.9 yards per carry!
Ruth ‘The Rocket’, as she’s become affectionately known by Boston fans, will next see action on 4 May as the Renegades travel to the New York Wolves.
Launching in 2019, our Britball Abroad blog series will seek to track British ballers as they take exciting steps in their Football Journeys – choosing to play abroad, both in the various semi-pro European leagues, or stateside, perhaps with their sights set on the pinnacle of the sport: a career in the NFL!
