Britball Abroad | Pirates Prove Too Much For Daley and Arminia

Tamworth, Uni of Notts and GB Lions standout, Patrick Daley, saw his second weekend of GFL 2 action on Saturday as the newly-promoted Arminia Spartans fell to a 31-13 defeat against the Elmshorn Fighting Pirates.

The hosts came out of the gate fast, and not long before halftime the Spartans, who earned promotion into the GFL 2 in 2018, found themselves 31 points down!

Just ahead of the break Daley and the Arminia offence showed some spark, as the Britbowl XXXI MVP connected with all-round playmaker, US import Quinn Bell who had assumed the Spartans’ QB position during their 2018 promotion campaign.

Despite the goal being for Bell to feature primarily in the defence for the Spartans this season, his 16yd reception from Daley put the Spartans on the scoreboard, and the Daytona Beach native would tack on another score before the final whistle, this time catching a pass from Spartans QB2, Sven Actun.

Still hunting their first win of the season, Daley and the Spartans will next see action hosting the Lubeck Cougars, 11 May. The Cougars currently sit at 1-0 having bested a Paladins side that narrowly defeated the Spartans in Week One.
