BUCS Confirms Division One Trophy Final Format

BUCScore has confirmed that the UEA Pirates will be the nominal home team for the Division One Championship fixture, the National Trophy Final, later this month – playing ‘hosts’ to the 1A Midlands’ Coventry Jets.

For the Jets, it’ll be the programme’s first National final appearance, though they’re no strangers to hoisting silverware having lifted Division Two’s Northern Conference Cup in back-to-back seasons ahead of their promotion to the middle tier last year.

UEA, meanwhile, have had a long-old wait to book their place in a finals fixture – having last played in a championship game almost 30 years ago, in College Bowl V!!!

While there’s no specific criteria for home/away designation in BUCS regs for National finals such as this, our understanding is that the Pirates snag the nominal ‘home’ designation courtesy of their 7-1 regular season record, compared to the Jets’ 6-2 record in the hotly contested 1A Midlands this season.
