Bullets Continue to Upgrade Firepower with Scholarship Announcements

The UWE Bullets have shared two further additions to their roster ahead of the BUCS 2018/19 season, the Bullets’ first since promotion to the top tier of the University game.

Alongside the addition of Defensive Lineman Jamaal Fears, over the weekend the Bullets Facebook page also announced two further scholars joining the team (with more to follow?)

Saturday saw the announcement of 6’5″ Tight End Tyler Zein, formerly of Millersville University, Pennsylvania, and Sunday the addition of NCAA D2 All-American Running Back, Brandon Jones.

Zilen shared with the Bullets:

“I came to the UK to gain my masters degree at a prestigious university, while also trying to raise the popularity of the sport. American Football is becoming more and more popular in the UK and to be a part of that and help teach what I’ve learned through my 15 years would be a great honor.

I hope to help my teammates and fellow students learn more about the sport and help the university continue with their success in the American Football programme. I am looking forward to playing in the Premiership for the school’s first time and helping the team anyway I can in becoming relevant in the Premiership.”

Meanwhile, Jones further adds some impressive pedigree to the Bullets’ offence. At his alma mater the Alderson Broaddus Battlers he racked up 42 scores and over 4,000 yards, while being a two-time All-American selection!

While many teams struggle with the jump up to competing in the top tier, it looks like the Bullets have put the work in to massively upgrade their firepower ahead of taking their first shot at premiership balling!
