Cougars Crowned Opal Series Champions Once Again!

Following another utterly dominant campaign, the Coventry Cougars have once again earned themselves an Opal Series Championship!

The Cougars went undefeated in the Southern Conference and continued their exceptional form into the National Finals.

The Championship game saw the Cougars square off against the Sheffield Giants – the team that tested them most at the National Finals in 2017.

On this occasion, however, the Cougars’ GB Lions-laden roster made short work of the Sheffield side, riding out 67-12 victors in a game that was live-streamed on the BAFA Opal Series Facebook page:

We’ll share a full set of results from the National Finals tournament once it’s been collated, and update our Opal Series 2018 pages accordingly.

Next up for the women’s game is a rapid turnaround for the full-contact seven-a-side discipline of the game as the Sapphire Series kicks off earlier this time around, the first weekend of fixtures kicking off on Saturday 1 December!
