DC The Halls – Happy Holidays!

Dearest Britball Nation,

Just a quick heads up that with Britball in hibernation until near the end of January, we’ll be scaling back our coverage over the next couple of weeks. Please still get in touch with news releases, events, and all the other great stuff you all have going on, but we may not be posting our usual daily updates between here and mid-January – when we’ll start building back up to the climactic second half of the Uniball season!

A quick word from me personally before I go find something pie-shaped to fill the Britball-shaped hole in my day;

2018 has certainly been a tumultuous year for DC, and for Britball in general. Huge changes across the game are beginning to bring some positivity back into the community and, touch wood, we’re starting to see some definite progress in the administration and organisation of the game.

My thanks go out to the community, and especially our Patreons, for their support throughout this past year. Without which, none of what DC has achieved and brought to the sport would have been possible.

I know many have questions about some recent changes in the ownership of DC, and we’ll have more news on that in the New Year.

In the meantime, I’ll just emphasise that without these changes we’d be in a very different situation.

Following last weekend, concluding Britball for 2018, instead of writing to wish you all a happy holidays, I would have been saying my farewells, packing DC up and seeking a return to the corporate grind in order to ensure I’m able to provide for the other priority in my life besides Britball – my newly expanded family.

Instead, DC has a new lifeline to hopefully survive at least a while longer and potentially do an awful lot more than that – the will and the way to take some great steps forward in the coverage and promotion of the British game!

I’ve got a few additions to the site I’m hoping to make over the midseason break, but most importantly I’m excited to spend my first Christmas with Charles, and hope you all make the most of the Holidays with the ones you love.

Play hard, play safe,

Nick Wilson-Town
