EP Sports Open Elite Programme To 2018/19 BUCS Applicants

EP Sports have announced their Elite Player Programme ahead of the BUCS 2018/19 season, an opportunity for three British University Ballers to be sponsored through their campaigns by the best provider of American Football equipment in the Britball Nation!

Speaking with DC, Joe Black at EP told DC that the EP Elite  programme allows players to showcase their skills, while being rewarded for putting the work in:

“The main concept behind project is that you see big brands such as Adidas and Nike have their own athletes, but there is nothing for players of the sport in Europe. We wanted players at this level a stage to showcase their talents and also gain some benefits for putting in the work to become a top player. We believe that this should also help to promote player development – rookies see the Elite players in BUCS and it gives them something to aspire to.

In BUCS there is such a huge amount of ‘hidden or unknown’ talent we want to let the public decide who they would like to follow for the season, that’s where the EP11 comes in.”

If you think you have what it takes to be an EP Elite player, applicants need to get in touch with EP Sports ahead of the 28 September. On 1 October a shortlist of players will be released and voted upon – the EP 11 – so the community itself will choose the talented ballers they follow throughout the BUCS 2018/19 season!

The Elite Player project is just another example of EP’s ongoing contributions to raising the level of the game in the UK – EP Sports is a company FOR Britballers, BY Britballers:

At its heart EP Sports was founded by those involved in the UK game through coaching and playing. We have had the chance to play at the top level both here and in Europe, representing Great Britain and winning championships. We want to help drive forward the level of the sport by giving back to those that put in the hard work to rise to the top.”

Previous players supported by the EP Elite project include:

  • Tim Thomas – Frankfurt Galaxy
Finished 3rd in the GFL in receiving 2018 – Kingston Cougars Alumni
  • Sandro Platzgummer – Swarco Tirol Raiders
400+ all-purpose yards and six touchdowns in the IFAF Euro Championships 2018
