Essex Spartans Seek Stand-In Officials For 23 June Matchup with Mavericks

In the most stacked Sunday of the season so far, we’re seeing a number of teams share that BAFRA will be unable to cover their fixture in Week Eleven.

First up, calling for aid from the Britball Community, are the Essex Spartans, who are seeking three to five stand-in officials, with at least a valid and current BAFCA Level One Qualification to cover their clash against the East Kent Mavericks on 23 June.

The Spartans will reimburse those who step up £40 a head, as well serve them up some post-game food from their Game Day BBQ – nomnomnom!

If you are able to assist to ensure this game is played it would be hugely appreciated by both the Spartans and Mavericks – please send the Spartans a message via their Facebook Page or email

The Essex Spartans have been informed by BAFA that BAFRA are unable to provide officials for our home game against the East Kent Mavericks on Sunday the 23rd of June.

Can i please ask if any coaches with a level 1 qualification or higher are able to attend to officiate the game, we require a minimum of 3 but ideally would like 5 to ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible and to aid player safety for both teams.

We are prepared to reimburse any volunteers who can help us £40 per official and they will be fed post game from our BBQ at our expense.

All volunteers will be supported by both Head Coaches and we will set expectations with our staff and players prior to the game so that the officials will be shown the same deference as an official BAFRA crew would be and to ensure all decisions are respected.

We are based in South Ockendon, Essex, very close to the Dartford Crossing and the M25/A13 and a short drive from East London.

If you are able to assist to ensure this game is played it would be hugely appreciated, please send me a message on here or email
