GB Lions U19’s Seek Support From The Nation for their Hectic 2019 Campaign!

The Great British Lions Under 19s are seeking the support of the Britball community to assist the team through their groundbreaking 2019 campaign that’ll see the team battle to earn their spot in the IFAF U19 European Championships, held in Italy later this year.

You can support the team’s efforts by donating to and sharing the GoFundMe page, set up by a parents-led fundraising group.

Though the programme receives a subsidy from the National Governing Body, the reality is the majority of the costs for both the qualifiers and the later tournament will be funded by the players and their families.

To help ensure the brightest young ballers in the Britball Nation are able to get the most out of this amazing experience, a group of dedicated parents have set up a fundraising group with the goal of ensuring that every player selected to represent their country does not miss out due to their personal financial situation.

Chair of the group, Calum McClenaghan, told DblCoverage.com that ultimate goal of this fundraising is making dreams a reality:

“We’re very excited to be able to support these young athletes!  The team are training hard and we’re planning to put the work in too to ensure this is as affordable an experience as possible for them all.

All funds raised will be paid directly to BAFA for the sole use of the GB U19 squad, it’ll be used evenly across all the players in the squad.

This will reduce the personal contributions needed by each of the players, making the dream of representing their National Team a reality for all players selected.

It will be used to cover as much of the cost of the France friendly on the 23rd January and the Norway qualifier on the 30th March as possible.”

The group aim to continue raising funds throughout the Lions’ qualification, and hopefully a successful performance against Norway, all the way up to the team’s departure to Italy!

You can show your support for these amazing young athletes by contributing directly to the team’s GoFundMe page, or if you can’t spare a financial contribution right now, you can also show your support by sharing and promoting the page to your friends and fellow American Football fans via social media – Share the GoFundMe on Facebook or Tweet about it on Twitter
