- The aforementioned Edinburgh Wolves jumped in to second place in the Premier North with victory over Sheffield
U17 & U19 FOOTBALL
We don’t have an official, 100% confirmed structure. We don’t have an official, 100% confirmed schedule. But that didn’t stop the U17 and U19 seasons kicking off this past weekend! Sandwell Steelers hosted the first U17 tournament, with Eton Jaguars sweeping the opposition to start the season 3-0. Meanwhile, Manchester Titans and London Blitz defeated Chester Romans and London Warriors respectively to get the U19 season underway.
FANS OF NAILBITING ACTION (and 20-19 scorelines…)
Division One was a hotbed of action on Sunday! Sandwell Steelers came from behind to win 20-19 as Shropshire Revolution went for the win with a 2PAT attempt with seconds to go. Up stepped LB/DL Ste Kilvington for the crucial tackle to bring Sandwell back to 0.500. Elsewhere, Gateshead Senators blew a 19-point lead over rivals Northumberland Vikings, who start the season with a 20-19 win.
WORCESTERSHIRE BLACK KNIGHTS
The second year side are 2-0 having beaten rookie outfit Somerset Wyverns 34-6 on Sunday. Sitting atop the SFC2 West, Worcestershire have equalled their win total from a season ago. A tough trip to Torbay Trojans awaits on 13 May, but the Black Knights will be feeling confident about upsetting the odds.
