Good Week/Bad Week

And just like that, only one week remains of the 2016/17 BUCS season. As the six teams in action this coming weekend put in their final preparations, it’s time to take another look at the goings on around Britball!

Honourable mentions;

  • Blowout 74-6 Varsity win for OBU Panthers over Reading Knights.
  • After an 0-8 season, Brighton Tsunami finally get the W with a Varsity victory over Sussex.

Coventry Jets LCoventry Jets

Perturbed by a lack of inclusion in the previous edition of GWBW following their road win over Edinburgh, the Jets put on a show against the previously unbeaten Gryphons, registering their highest points tally of the season in a lopsided 60-15 victory.

Leeds Carnegie LLeeds Beckett Carnegie

Carnegie finally got revenge over Hallam, who had inflicted their only two defeats of the season, with a 36-18 win in the Division One North Final on Sunday. Hallam kept it close until the fourth, before Leeds began to pull away. Whatever happens in the Division One Final, Leeds are Premier bound!

BAFABAFA National Leagues’ Adult teams

Rejoice! The schedule is now 99.9% confirmed, with a little over 3 weeks until the big kick-off. We made a few observations following the release late on Saturday night, and it looks to be another barnstorming season with a number of highly competitive conferences.
