Another busy weekend of ‘balling across the ‘Nation as we saw action in U17, U19 and Adult, with a little sprinkle of Uniball on the side to boot!
- The Cornish Sharks made what is likely their longest road trip of the year and took away a comfortable victory from a Worcestershire Black Knights side who were buzzing after their first league win the previous week. The Sharks are looking likely favourites for the SFC2West as things stand.
- Morecambe Bay Storm and the Chester Romans got their seasons back on track with big wins, bouncing back from tough losses.
- And the Glasgow Tigers made the NFC2North rather confusing with a confident win over the previously undefeated Clyde Valley Blackhawks.
A great weekend all round for the Blitz as a programme as they went undefeated across all three formats. Blitz B dominated to the second half of their game to take a clear win over a previously undefeated Essex Spartans, while the Under 17s went 3-0 in their tournament, including a turnaround victory over a Herts Cheetahs side that bested them in the opening tournament of the year. Looking like a very competitive London conference in the Under 17 game! Of course, the win everyone wants to talk about was in the Premiership, where to two top teams in the country held each other scoreless through the first half, before a flurry of scores in the second saw the Blitz emerge victorious by the narrowest of margins: 14-13 and currently sat atop the best conference in Britball!!
Another programme with a highly successful weekend, the Manchester Titans had three teams in actions this weekend, with six wins in seven games played… sort of. What does it count as when one of your teams beats the other one? Titans South Under 17s went 3-0 for their second tourney in a row, though Titans North will have some catching up to do in subsequent tourneys. In the Adult league, a second half collapse from the Newcastle Vikings saw Manchester post up a #50Burger – leaving the Titans standing clear as the only undefeated team in the NFC1North.
Also, they had an exceptionally strong twitter game this week.

It was a trial by fire for the Saints coming into the Prem South, the recent promotees facing the top two teams in the Nation in their opening two weeks. However, their rough start to the season clearly hasn’t broken the Saints’ will, and though the two teams traded scores back and forth through the first half, the Saints aerial attack continues to threaten courtesy of veteran QB Fred Boyle and they dominated the second half of the fixture, pulling well clear in the fourth quarter and posting their first #50Burger of the year.
LEEDS ACADEMY ASSASSINS
The Assassin’s Under 17s got three #50Burgers in three fixtures in their tournament on Saturday, dominating the opposition in their Under 17 North East Conference! Can you get a triple-decker happy meal?
