Greg Freeman confirmed as Birmingham Lions Head Coach

Rumoured since the announcement of Wayne Hill’s departure from the University Head Coach role at the end of the Lions’ 17/18 season, the Birmingham Lions have confirmed that Lions Alum Greg Freeman will be taking over the top job at the top tier Uniball outfit.

Freeman initially joined the Lions as a player, led the club as President during his time as a student, before joining the coaching staff.

Speaking with the Lions, Coach Hill described Freeman as the ideal candidate to take over the position, having been his ‘right hand man’ for many years.

Last month Coach Hill successfully stood and was elected as President of the British American Football Coaches Association. He will remain in his post as Director of Football for the extensive and highly successful Birmingham Lions Programme – that includes top-level teams in almost all facets of the British game – until September.
