Halton Spartans looking to expand coaching roster ahead of #Britball17

The Halton Spartans are a great example of a young programme focusing on doing things right OFF the field, as well as on it.

Following two seasons in the league the Spartans have put in a competitive 11-9 record in the hotly contested NFC II West, narrowly missing out on postseason balling in each of their first two seasons.

As well as performing commendably upon the Gridiron, the Spartans have built strong relationships with friend and foe alike – developing themselves a great home field set-up and strong links with their conference rivals.

Looking to expand their programme, the Spartans released the following call for applications:

The Halton Spartans were founded in December of 2013, and completed our BAFA association year in 2014. We were admitted to the BAFA National Leagues in December 2014 following successful completion of the BAFA association process. We have completed two full seasons and are yet to suffer a losing season. In both years we narrowly missed out on playoff football, and are looking to go one better in 2017!!

Our playing roster is in excess of 50 players and we have a dedicated hard working committee and off field team. We will again play our home games in 2017 at the fantastic Select Security Stadium in Widnes with is a 13,000 all seater stadium, with a state of the art 4th generation artificial pitch.

Following our recent announcement in regards to our senior coaching team for the 2017 season we are looking to recruit the following:

Positional Coaches
• General Coaching Assistants

A BAFCA Level 1 qualification is preferred and experience within American Football is essential

Applications should include a history of coaching positions if applicable, vacant position of interest, and any information you feel will enhance your application.

The Halton Spartans whilst a young programme have already made great strides in Britball, and are looking to continue our growth in 2017 and beyond, both on and off the field. If you feel the Halton Spartans are for you, then in the first instance please send all applications and enquiries to Ian Derbyshire Halton Spartans General Manager derbyshirei44@hotmail.com

Having laid some great foundations in their first two seasons, if they continue their growth towards building a sustainable programme the ‘Nation might expect to see some big things from the Spartans.
