Head Coach Simon Hatcher departs Herts

Hertfordshire Hurricanes Head Coach, Simon Hatcher, has announced his departure from the programme, following the conclusion of the 2018/19 Academy Year.

Longtime Hurricanes defensive coordinator, Hatcher stepped up into the Head Coach role following the departure of longtime co-coordinator, GB Lions Women’s Head Coach Jim Messenger, ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Coach Hatcher is one of the longest-tenured and well-respected coaches in the British game, and though he’s departed the Hurricanes, he’s made it clear he’s not ready to hang up the clip board just yet – still intending to have involvement in the sport.

Coach Hatcher joins an ever-lengthening list of University departures during this offseason.

As the Hurricanes’ focus shifts towards finding an adequate replacement for the top job at one of the most successful programmes in Britball history, I’d personally like to thank Coach Hatcher for his open and honest communication, and his love of the game that radiates through everything he does.
