Here come the Bears! Chester Romans Ladies strike out as Cheshire Bears

This Sunday the Chester Romans Ladies players and coaches made the exciting announcement that they had made the decision to split from their parent organisation, the Chester Romans Programme, to form a brand new club for Women’s Football – The Cheshire Bears!

The team shared:

“We would like thank the Romans for everything so far but we feel that this is the best direction for us to fulfil our potential and create more opportunities for Women in sport.

We are becoming the Cheshire Bears and rather than just a team we are creating a club as looking to the future we will add more teams under the club potentially including a flag team and also work on grass roots working with girls and in schools.

It’s a very exciting and busy time, but we are working hard behind the scenes to make this a reality. You will see our various social media accounts start to change over the next week and various posts with regards to the new club.”

Expectations are the Bears will first see action as a team during the 2019 Sapphire Series – though watch out for some of their ballers participating in this summer’s 11-a-side Diamond Series too!

You can find the Bears on Facebook at their new page!
