High Flying Leicester Falcons Announce Plans for U19s Squad in 2019

Following the completion of a highly successful summer of 2018, where the adult team earned themselves undefeated promotion to the Premiership, and the U17s squad competed in their first full campaign, the Leicester Falcons Academy have announced their intent to launch an Under 19’s team, headed up by Coach Rob Urquhart.

The move means that in a few swift years the Falcons have returned to being able to cater for ballers from age 14 and upwards.

Per the Leicester Falcons Facebook page:

“Leicester Falcons are proud to announce that next season the Falcons Academy will restart an Under 19 team. The squad will be led by Rob Urquhart, who brings a considerable wealth of experience to the role, having worked with the GB Lions U19s and is the current head coach of Leicester Longhorns university team.

“I am excited to be working with the next generation of Falcons” said Urquhart. “We are an ambitious organisation and can make the Falcons a club to be proud of from youth all the way through to seniors.”

This means that the Falcons will now once again cater for young people from the age of 14 all the way through to adult football for the first time since 2014.”
