#ItsComingHome – BAFA Share Statement on Fixture Amendments for World Cup

Following the England football team’s victory over Sweden on Saturday, BAFA have shared a statement concerning teams seeking to re-shuffle their fixtures to allow players, coaches and fans to watch the FIFA World Cup Final:

“The success of the England Football team in the World Cup is fantastic and we realise that players, coaches, officials etc are likely to want to watch the Final on the 15th if England qualify.

A number of teams are already making contingency plans which involve earlier kick offs and potentially moving games to an alternative date. BAFA supports such changes but it is important for us to emphasise that any change must be agreed by both teams and BAFRA and that Russ Hewitt our Competitions Director must be kept fully informed.”
