Last month we saw future NFL legends come together to take on the official scouting challenge at the NFL Combine. On 27 and 28 April, the Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing a Combine-style event to London, giving NFL fans of all ages and skill levels the chance to test their abilities against similar challenges the pros have to go through when they are hoping to be scouted.
Jaguars team captain and first-team All-Pro, Calais Campbell is flying to the UK to support the event. Fans will have the chance to meet the star who led the team to the NFL playoffs before taking part in the Combine challenge and then embracing the American football festival area.
“I cannot wait to be part of it”, said Campbell.
“It’s going to be amazing to interact with the fans, see their skills and give away some amazing prizes. As players, we really appreciate the support we get from the UK, so to be able to come over and give something back is an unmissable opportunity.”
The Combine will consist of a number of challenges including a vertical jump, throwing accuracy test, power test and a 40-yard dash, with ‘money can’t buy’ prizes up for grabs for the best performances.
The overall winner will receive VIP tickets, pitch-side access and locker room tour at the upcoming Jaguars vs. Eagles game at Wembley in October. Individual test winners can also walk away with the brand new Jacksonville Jaguars merchandise signed by Campbell.
As well as the NFL activities, there will be food and drinks trucks, live music and merchandise stalls. This is an event truly geared to the whole family.
“Bringing the NFL Combine to the UK is a fantastic chance for our fans to engage with the team as well as a way to introduce more people to the sport. We are incredibly excited to have the support of Calais and believe he will be a great inspiration to our UK fanbase”
“It is just another way that we are showing our commitment to the UK and the Jaguars and NFL fans over here. We want as many fans to come down and experience being an NFL prospect for the day as possible.”
– Hussain Naqi, Senior Vice President, International Development for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Combine will be open to fans from 4pm-9pm on Friday 27th April and 9:30am to 3pm on Saturday 28th April 2018 at Bernie Gardens, Southbank, London. Fans are encouraged to visit the website for more information and to register their interest in the days’ events.
