Leeds Chargers Announce New Head Coach

As many of their ballers prepare to step out for the GB Lions at this summer’s European Championships, the Leeds Carnegie Chargers have announced their new Head Coach, Andy Yell.

A former Captain of the Leeds University Gryphons, Andy coached with the King’s College Regents, before joining the Northern Blizzard Coaching roster this summer.

The Chargers will launch their ‘Summer Series’ of taster sessions in a couple of weeks’ time, giving Coach Yell the opportunity to scout out new, talented additions to the Chargers’ roster.

Speaking on the Chargers’ Facebook page, Coach Yell shared:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be the new Head Coach for the Chargers – this is a team that’s consistently fought at the top of Women’s Britball, with so much exciting potential.

There’s hard work to be done, but I’m confident in the quality and attitude of the players and organisation to deliver results. Plans are in place to take this team to new heights, and we’re all excited to realise our goals moving forward- this squad now has vision, direction, and momentum.

We know what we need to do, and we’re going to do it.”
