Comeback win to kick off 2019 season

The London Olympians got their campaign off to a winning start with a comeback win over local rivals, the Kent Exiles.
Trailing 17-6 to the newly promoted Exiles at halftime, an Olympian side packed with new signings dominated the second half to earn a 33-23 victory.
The Olympians were the first to find the endzone when QB Artem Bakmanidis found WR Jack Verling for an early score, but TDs from an Exile offense powered by GB QB James Cook and elusive RB Dan Exell put the visitors in control at the midway point.
Early in the third quarter, game MVP Bakmanidis hit new signing Verling for a long gain before finding another of his new targets, WR Luke Hegney, for a 29-yard score. RB Tolu Ogundana added the extra point to close the gap to 17-14.
Exell extended the Exiles’ lead to 23-14 with a short TD run, just one play after Kunle Omisakin’s drive-killing interception was nullified by a penalty. The Olympians responded with a drive leading to RB Dan Asare’s TD run, for 23-20…
