Merseyside Nighthawks announce new Offensive Coordinator

Breaking news coming out of the Merseyside Nighthawks Senior squad this morning, as Harry Routledge has made the step up to officially become the ‘Hawks Offensive Coordinator and lead the Nighthawks offence for the 2018 season.

The Nighthawks finished second in the Prem North for the second straight season following promotion, and an effective O has always been a core part of the Merseyside side’s success in the top tier.

Routledge, who has been an integral member of the Nighthawks set up for the last near-decade, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having played for the Nighthawks, Carlstad Crusaders and GB Lions.

He has also OC’d for the Swedish national team in 2015, as well as assisting the outgoing OC, Joe Black, at the Nighthawks since his return from Sweden.

Coach Black is taking a brief sabbatical from coaching to focus on a few things outside of the Nighthawks. He will remain an integral part of the support for the new OC.

When asked about the role, Harry said

‘I am honoured to be taking up this role within the Nighthawks, although it is something I have been contributing to for the last few years. I’m looking forward to working closely with our talented roster and to continuing the good work that coach Black has done over the last few years’.
