New Commission Lead for Age Groups announced

The British American Football Association have announced the appointment of Commission Lead for Age Groups Competitions, responsible for the oversight of the Cadet, Under 17s and Under 19s formats of the British game – Stuart Potts-Perkins.

The appointment follows the stepping down of Russ Hewitt, with the previous role subsequently split into multiple posts to provide a more manageable workload. Marcus Boswell was appointed as Commission Lead for University football earlier this month.

After a highly competitive selection process BAFA are delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Potts-Perkins as the new Commission Lead for Age Groups competitions. Stuart brings over 30 years of British American football experience to the role, having worked at club and international level as both a coach and administrator.

Operations Director Steve Rains said:

“We had a really strong field of candidates for this post and I and delighted to announce this appointment. Stuart will get straight down to work as he takes over from Russ Hewitt over the next few weeks. I am sure he will also be taking up the offers we have had from the other candidates to be involved as we move forward too.”

“Delivery of this season is clearly the priority, with developing a strategy for future growth in this category following close behind. Stuart has also committed to 2020 schedules no later than the end of January next year, as we know this has been a big concern this year. However, all clubs will need to step up to help him achieve this goal.”
