Nottingham Caesars Announce New Head Coach

Today the BAFA National Leagues’ Nottingham Caesars shared the news that longtime Head Coach and team founder, Barry Boseley, has stepped down as Head Coach of the Adult team. In his stead, Coach Vanden Warner will step up into the Head Coach role.

Coach Boseley steps down after a career spanning four decades with the programme, initially reigniting the programme from the ashes of the famous Nottingham Hoods.

Alongside Coach Vanden Warner rising into the role of Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, the programme also shared the appointment of Mike Holden as Defensive Coordinator, Adam Burnett as Special Teams Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. Sean Endicott will remain in post as Head Coach of the U19’s team, following assuming the role early in the 2018 season after the departure of Coach George Lees.

The team’s announcement paid homage to Coach Boseley’s tireless commitment to the sport and the club, through his thirty-four years of leading the team through all the highs and lows that make Britball what it is.

The Nottingham Caesars shared:

“Head Coach of the Nottingham Caesars, Barry Boseley has decided to step down from his current position within the team.

Barry’s long career spanning over four decades started with The Little Caesars Junior team which was the main feeder to the original senior team in Nottingham: The Nottingham Hoods. A few seasons later after the Hoods dismantled, Barry reformed the team as The Nottingham Caesars and has supported the club for 34 competitive seasons at different levels within the British game: a feat that few clubs and coaches can match in the UK game.

Now, he feels it is time for him to take a well-earned rest and pass the baton on to the next generation of coaches to lead the Caesars. Barry will remain as the Club Owner and as an active member of the club, predominantly featuring in an off-field management role.

As a result of Barry’s retirement, there has been some restructuring to the coaching staff; Vanden Warner has been appointed Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator; Mike Holden as Defensive Coordinator; Adam Burnett as Special Teams Coordinator and Offensive-line Coach and Sean Endicott as Head Coach for the Junior team.”
