Ouse Valley Eagles forfeit vs Cambridgeshire Cats

BAFA have been notified by the Ouse Valley Eagles adult contact team that they have forfeited this weekend’s game against the Cambridgeshire Cats

The game was due to take place on Sunday, 5 May. The reason given by the Ouse Valley Eagles was an unprecedented level of injury and unavailability. In accordance with the Competition Rules the game will be awarded as a 1-0 walkover win to the Cambridgeshire Cats.

In accordance with rule 13.19 of the Competition Rules the Ouse Valley Eagles have now been issued with a yellow card.  This means that at the end of the current season they will be relegated to Division 2.  They will, however, continue in Division 1 (SFC 1 East) for the remainder of this season.

Clive Dobbin, Adult Commission Lead, said:

“Whilst I have sympathy with the situation faced by the Ouse Valley Eagles, it is unfortunate that they have forfeited their forthcoming fixture against the Cambridgeshire Cats. The rules in this situation are clear and require the team to be issued with a yellow card resulting in their relegation at the end of the current season. I hope that the Ouse Valley Eagles can now re-group and come back stronger so they can complete the remainder of their fixtures.”
