Pirates Announce Jag Tag Partnership

Scotland’s largest and most successful Britball outfit, the East Kilbride Pirates, have become the latest programme to announce an exciting partnership with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, joining the Manchester Titans and Gateshead Senators as programmes who have built on their existing player development success to earn the opportunity to bring the Jaguars’ intro format of American Football to young players in their region!

The Pirates will bring free of charge American Football sessions to Scottish schools, with Pirates Chairman Amanda Mcdonald telling the Daily Record,

We have a long-standing commitment to the growth of youth and junior football so we’re absolutely delighted that East Kilbride has been chosen as the location to launch JagTag in Scotland.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the Jacksonville Jaguars and we know JagTag will give young people from all backgrounds in South Lanarkshire schools a fantastic introduction to the sport and offer them a new and exciting way to get active.”

The Pirates will be joined by the Jaguars UK mascot, Union Jaxson, at a launch event on Tuesday 18 June, where over 250 boys and girls aged 10-16 will get a taste of JagTag’s non-contact format of our great sport, with the Pirates providing eight Youth Coaches and seven players from their currently undefeated Adult roster to help introduce these young athletes to the game!
