Portsmouth Dreadnoughts Announce New U19 Head Coach, Chris Hillman

The Portsmouth Dreadnoughts have announced the appointment of a new Head Coach for their Under 19s team, as Chris Hillman steps up into the role from his position as Running Backs coach for the Dreadnoughts’ Adult roster.

Coach Hillman brings a good amount of experience of BUCS American Football into the role as well, having previously coached with the Lincoln Colonials, and currently serves as Head Coach of the University of Chichester Spitfires, who put together their strongest season to date in 2018/19.

Coach Hillman told PortsmouthDreadnoughts.co.uk:

“I’m absolutely delighted to have been asked to become Head Coach of the Academy U19s. Having coached with the seniors for 5 years and achieving promotion to division 1 last year, the need for a successful academy has only grown!

Sam Guillen, as chairman, alongside his great committee, have done a wonderful job to secure funding from Sport England, and has developed the club into a great position. I hope that the coaching staff, under my leadership can deliver on his vision.

The goal is to produce high-quality players that learn to love the sport as much as I do, continuing on to the senior team as they push for even higher reaches or to one of the local universities who are so supportive of our programme.”
