Power Rankings | BAFA NL Adult Premiership: Week Eleven

Power Rankings are here once again following an exciting Week Eleven!

And, as noted we’re doing things differently for 2018!

We’re collating this year’s rankings via a completely new format – polling not only our own BAFA National Leagues team of correspondents but also giving all of our passionate Patreon supporters the opportunity to determine how these rankings stack up!

Each contributor submitted their own picks of who’s top dogs in each tier, and then we tallied it all up to create these amalgamated rankings!

Once again, this new format of selecting the top ten teams in each tier is proving tempestuous!

12. Bury Saints ( = )

The Saints saw another bye, continuing to recruit and rebuild before they return to action in Week Thirteen.

11. East Kilbride Pirates ( = )

The Pirates stay put in eleventh following their loss against Tamworth in Week Eleven.

While they kept the Phoenix shy of a #50Burger, which is worryingly an achievement of its own in the Prem North, it would have been good to see the Scotsmen put up some points of their own as they’re beginning to run short of opportunities if they intend to remain a top tier team past this season.

They host the Merseyside Nighthawks this weekend in an absolute must-win fixture. A loss here more than likely means the Pirates will be playing D1 ball next year.

10. Farnham Knights ( = )

Some coaching changes for the Knights shortly before the weekend may have contributed to a particularly punishing scoreline against the Warriors in Week Eleven, but the substantial number of rookies in this team continue their trial-by-fire in the top tier, developing week by week (even if some lessons are more painful than others!).

They get a week off to recover and get new Coach, Jerry Mannagh, up to speed, before facing the Warriors once more in Week Thirteen.

9. Merseyside Nighthawks ( Down One )

Merseyside slip back down into the #9 spot following their bye – a well-earned rest following six-straight weeks of games.

They head north of the wall this Sunday, hosted by the Pirates for what is perhaps the most crucial matchup of each team’s season so far – certainly, it’s looking like a must-win game for the Scotsmen if they intend to remain a top-tier outfit!

8. London Olympians ( Up One )

The Os climb to eight – we guess being the only team outside the Warriors to hold the Blitz below a Burger comes with some kudos?

They head to a bye, before hosting the Aztecs in Week Thirteen.

7. Edinburgh Wolves ( Down Two )

The Wolves fall two spots following their loss to the Giants.

Outpaced in the first half, it looked like Edinburgh were about to mount yet-another impressive second-half comeback, when the Giants went and re-ignited their jets in the fourth!

They costly 21-point loss squeaks the Sheffield side the head-to-head by a single point, and leaves both the teams a game behind the postseason berth currently occupied by the Titans.

6. Bristol Aztecs ( = )

Aztecs stay put in #6 for a third straight week. They head to their final of three-straight bye weeks before returning against the Olympians in Week Thirteen.

5. Sheffield Giants ( Up Two )

The Giants rise back up the ranks following their first #50Burger performance of the year against the Wolves.

As mentioned, a clutch fourth-quarter flurry of scores clinched the head-to-head over the Wolves by a single point, and following a couple weeks off? The Giants have put themselves in a position to actually take a shot at the #2 spot in the North when they travel to the Titans in Week Fourteen.

4. Manchester Titans ( = )

Manchester maintain their spot just outside the top three as they continue through a brace of bye weeks. We’ll see them again in Week Thirteen as they travel to Tamworth – a second shot at the reigning champs, with hopes for a more competitive scoreline than the 7-60 trial-by-fire they faced in their top-tier debut.

3. London Blitz ( = )

The Blitz get a unanimous third place vote this weekend following a comfy win over the Os.

They head to a bye before welcoming the Saints back from a good few weeks off in Week Thirteen.

2. London Warriors ( = )

Oooph! It was close, but the Warriors miss out on reclaiming the top spot in these rankings by a single vote following their huge Week Eleven win over the Knights!

It was the biggest scoreline in the top tier so far this season and continues on the great momentum they built in their win against the Blitz.

They’ll head back to the training field this Sunday, before returning against the Knights once again in Week Thirteen – would a second-straight blowout win be enough to finally re-steal the top spot in the rankings?

1. Tamworth Phoenix ( = )

The Phoenix’s 46 point shutout appears to have been just barely enough to hold onto the top spot for yet another week!

Tamworth have a bye this Sunday, before hosting the Titans in top-of-the-table clash in Week Thirteen.
