Rich Worsell – Repping Britball in NCAA Division One!

Coach Rich Worsell, former University of Aberystwyth and GB Lions Coach, has announced his new role as Director of Football Research and Analytics at the NCAA D1 MAC side, the Akron Zips!

Worsell began his coaching career back here in the Britball Nation, as Head Coach of the Tarannau Aberystwyth for three years, in addition to serving as the Great Britain Bulldogs Offensive Line coach and Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the Sussex Thunder.

Since making the move stateside, Coach Worsell developed his coaching, initially at Milkin University and Lakeland College in Wisconsin, followed by two record-breaking seasons at Illinois College, before contributing to the NCAA Division 3 La Verne Leopards becoming something of an offensive juggernaut, culminating in a 2015 SCIAC (Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Football Championship and the Leopards’ first appearance in the NCAA Football Championship since 1994!

Coach Worsell has maintained strong links back in the UK, particularly working with the Bristol Pride to offer insights and opportunities to one of Britball’s top player development programmes.
