Rookies, Knottingley Raiders, Forfeit ahead of this weekend’s Leeds Bobcats Match-up

Per the Leeds Bobcats’ Facebook page, the Knottingley Raiders have been forced to forfeit their Week Sixteen fixture against the on-form Leeds side.

Per the Bobcats’ statement, the Raiders believe that due to carrying a large number of injuries at this late point in their rookie season, they will be unable to muster a sufficient size of squad to play the fixture safely, and thus came to the difficult decision to withdraw from the game.

Deep into the season, there will be no available opportunities to reschedule the game, and thus the Bobcats will proceed to 9-0 on the season with a 1-0 walkover of the Raiders.

This reprieve will allow the Bobcats even more time to prepare for what will be their crunch-time crucial fixture against the similarly undefeated Gateshead Senators in Week Eighteen!
