Announcing new strength training sponsorship between The Sheffield Predators and Structure Sport and Fitness Ltd.
The Sheffield Predators American Football team are pleased to announce the approval of a sponsorship deal with Structure Sport and Fitness Ltd with an annual value of over £4000.
Structure Sport and Fitness Ltd will be The Predators’ official strength training and conditioning facility offering discounts and a specialised American Football strength training programme to its players.
The Predators’ Head Coach Richard Batty says “Every year I’m asked by new players how do I get better. Hard work is the general answer. I do however hold the view that the fitter, stronger and faster you are with lean muscle mass being taken care of by a good nutrition plan, makes you a better player. If players focus on their own conditioning away from the football field it leaves us, the coaches able to focus on fundamentals at practise. I am pleased we have this deal in place which gives our players every opportunity to improve their strength and size. American football is a sport like rugby league and union that anyone can play, but the level you play at is determined by your own hard work””
Structure Sport and Fitness Ltd opened in Sheffield in February 2014 at 110 Duchess Road, S2 4BL. The gym has a broad range of strength and conditioning equipment designed for athletes to train and condition to be at peak performance in match season. One of Structure’s goals is to work with the Sheffield amateur sporting community to provide pro-level programmes and facilities that will help The Predators maximise their strength and conditioning training.
The Predators’ club founder Clive Stephenson commented “All coaches or off field staff can do to help players is give them the tools to help themselves. This sponsorship is just one of the tools in the box, players need to pick it up and use it.”
The Predators are looking forward to working with Structure Director and Trainer Lee Dubois. Lee, originally from Ohio, US is an experienced strength and conditioning coach and former offensive lineman and defensive end.
Predators flag football team captain Dean Whittingslow said “I have been training at Structure for 4 weeks following a programme of strength training moves that I’ve never done before. Even in that short amount of time I’ve added 40KG to my deadlift and set new personal bests in bench press and overhead press. The added size in my upper body combined with the prowler work which increases my explosive speed will help me be a step faster and more durable throughout the season”
Lee will be attending a number of matches during the season to observe the team on the field so that he can design and adapt training programmes especially for The Predators players.
The Predators and Structure hope that this deal will further promote American Football and enhance amateur sporting opportunities in Sheffield.
