Steelers continue offseason shake up with new additions to the Coaching staff:

With aspirations no lower than promotion in their upcoming 2018 campaign, the Sandwell Steelers continue to announce shake ups to their coaching staff.

Continuing to add to a young, but nonetheless experienced and versatile roster of coaches, the Steelers have announced the addition of former Uniball player and coach, Andrew Dewar. Coach Dewar has previously played with the Glasgow Tigers, Edinburgh Predators and Birmingham Lions, beginning his coaching career with the University of Birmingham.

Per SandwellSteelers.com:

Andrew ‘Claymore’ Dewar will be joining the already unbelievable coaching staff that HC Petitjean has been hard at work putting together.

Coach Claymore has enjoyed an outstanding playing career, featuring for numerous university teams including: University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh and the University of Birmingham.

Coach Claymore comes to the team having previously coached at the UoB Lions, where he applied his MSc in Performance Psychology and PhD in Sport Psychology.

Here’s what Andrew had to say about coming on-board: “I’ve been following the Steelers for a number of years now and have seen them go from strength to strength.

“They have an incredibly talented group of players and coaches and I’m really excited to be working with them. Thanks to Maxwell, Greg and Ryan for extending the invitation to be part of this great team. I truly cannot wait to get to work in the new-year.”

After yet another great coaching acquisition, HC Petitjean said: “Having been around Andrew for some time, I knew that bringing his skillset to the Steelers would only bring positives to the club.

“With this being yet another piece in the jigsaw, I am really looking forward to being able to showcase our coaching and playing talent next season.”
