Steelers Secure Bright Young Talent At QB

Tipton-based Sandwell Steelers have been busy this offseason, following a 9-1 regular season record in 2016. Sideline changes at Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator see Ross Barrow and Stuart Andrew stepping in respectively.

The Steelers averaged 44 points per game in the final 3 game stretch to close out the regular season during the previous campaign, and with dual-threat QB Jonny Glover moving to Australia, the staff have moved quickly to bring in Callum Davidson to run the offense.

Davidson, one of the country’s top young talents at the position, began his journey with the Birmingham Bulls before playing his Junior career with the Birmingham Lions. Since progressing to Adult level, Davidson has taken his skills abroad, playing for the Hässleholm Hurricanes (Sweden) and Cottbus Crayfish (Germany).

In what promises to be another physical, competitive NFC1 South division, Sandwell will look to Davidson to give them the edge following a number of close results in 2016. You can read more about Davidson’s return to the BAFA National Leagues over at
