Tamworth Phoenix Announce Under 19’s Team For 2019

We didn’t get a chance to share this last week, but exciting news out of the Midlands as reigning Adult National Champions, the Tamworth Phoenix, announce the launch of their Junior U19s team for 2019!

Per TamworthPhoenix.co.uk

The Tamworth Phoenix are delighted to announce their intentions to form a Junior program for the 2019 season.

After the reintroduction of the youth team in 2012, the club has always seen the development of players through youth and junior football as the pathway for sustained development and success for both the club and the sport as a whole.

The intention for the junior team is to enter the BAFA U19 league if there are adequate numbers, however, if numbers are not great enough to sustain a full 9-a-side team, 7v7 football shall be looked at for the first year.

Club President James Hossack had this to say:

“Since the overhaul of the club committee back in 2015, our intention has always been to grow the club through the youth and junior systems. After numerous years of success and growth with our youth team, plus our move to a new home at Pack Meadow in Coleshill, we believe that we are finally in a position to offer under 19s football.”

Adult head coach Jason Scott was similarly enthusiastic:

“We are extremely excited to have reached this point where we can offer good quality coaching and facilities to both Youth and Junior teams, as this has been something we have been working towards for a number of years. Our youth team is a vital part of the club, and we’re looking forward to offering our graduating youth athletes the opportunity to continue their footballing development here, remaining within a National Championship winning program, all as part of the Phamily.”

The Phoenix are inviting applications and expressions of interest for all coaching roles and backroom staff roles.

If you wish to be considered for a coaching role or wish to be involved in a backroom staff capacity, please email your application to president@tamworthphoenix.co.uk. Include any prior experience, the role in which you are looking to take up, and contact details.

If you are a player who will be aged between 16-19 come August 31st 2018 and wish to join the Tamworth Phoenix Junior program, please look out for posts in the coming weeks detailing taster days and joining information.
