Update | Where are the Britball Nation Awards 2018?

Many of you have rightfully gotten in touch to query what’s been happening with the Britball Nation Awards 2018 – announced in December with the goal to release in January, there’s been no sight nor sound of them so far… Fear not! They’re still on their way!

This one’s on me guys. I pushed the Britball Nation Awards back a bit this year, thinking it’d mean rather than working on them over the Christmas period, I’d get to work on them in January instead and spend a first Christmas with the new addition to my family.

However, they then got pushed back a little further into January following some other delays, and with the Uni season getting back underway even earlier than the norm?

The simple fact was I didn’t have near enough time to work through the MOUNTAIN of submissions across the categories to get them all shortlisted and edited before my work week was full of news, BUCS and Sapphire once again.

That said, I’ve been plugging away at them in the background, and as the BUCS season reaches its peak, conversely the workload for coverage actually decreases a tad – Sapphire wraps up over the next couple of weeks and there are fewer and fewer fixtures to provide previews of.

As such, the goal is to have all the awards ready for announcement or public vote by the BUCS finals – this way we can potentially explore featuring the launch of the Video Submission Award voting as part of the stream, or similar, and both the BUCS and National Leagues communities can get in on the voting!

I apologise for the radio silence on this subject lately – as the conscientious community members that got in touch with the Facebook page know, I’ve been meaning to share an update for some time now – but haven’t had a whole lot of spare time for that either!

Between the weekly content, some potentially exciting stuff behind the scenes, and learning to dad so far 2019 has been a rather hectic year – but we’ll still be celebrating everything awesome from last year in the not-so-distant future!
