BAFA Unveils National Leagues Division Two Structure

Following the announcement of the two teams that successfully completed the 2018 Associate process and will be joining the Adult Contact National Leagues in 2019, BAFA have also shared the Division Two Conference Alignments for the 2019 season.

Both new additions to the league, the Inverclyde Goliaths and the Darlington Steam will be added to the NFC 2 North, that was reduced to just two teams at the end of the 2018 season. They will be joined by the Carlisle Sentinels, shifting across from the NFC2 Central.

In the Central, the gaps left by the promoted Romans and realigned Sentinels have been filled by the relegated Leeds Bobcats, and the realigned Knottingley Raiders.

Conveniently, these allows all three Northern conferences to be of equal size heading into the 2019 season!

As many suspected, the Coventry Jets, now under the management of the Etone Jaguars following the culmination of the 2018 season, are not included in the structure, and will need to progress towards league membership via the associate process.

Red = Relegated, Blue = New Team, Turquoise = Realigned

In the south, the gaps left via the promotion of both the Hertfordshire Cheetahs and Portsmouth Dreadnoughts out of the SFC 2 South have been filled via the realignment of one team out of each of the other Southern conferences - the London Blitz B out of the SFC 2 East, and the Jurassic Coast Raptors from the SFC 2 West.

In turn, the relegated Bristol Apache have returned to their familiar home in the SFC 2 West, and the East Kent Mavericks will join a competitive looking SFC 2 East in the spring.
