Fixtures Updates | BUCS 18/19 Week Four
We’ll continually update this article as any information comes in relating to BUCS Week Four fixtures.
A few notable amendments to the originally published schedule this week:
24/11 - Pyros out of fuel - Forced to forfeit versus Predators
The UWS Pyros have been forced to forfeit their Week Four fixture against the Edinburgh Predators due to a lack of available players. The Predators, who have already seen their season opener against the YSJ Jaguars postponed, will be awarded a walkover victory.
BNU still building back to match fit - game vs KCL Awarded as Walkover
Having started the season very thin on the ground, the BNU Buccaneers will not contest their upcoming fixture versus the KCL Regents. We understand the game with be awarded a 1-0 walkover to KCL, though the teams are still exploring the possibility of a scrimmage to ensure neither side misses out on the opportunity to take on fresh opposition. This is the second fixture in a row the Bucs have been unable to field a roster for, after starting their season with just 13 kitted players in their opener against Greenwich. The team and committee remain focused on improving roster fitness in the hopes of playing as complete a season as possible.
Saxons vs Spitfires back on track
The postponed Week Two game between the Sussex Saxons and Chichester Spitfires, lost to heavy rainfall leading up to the fixture, has been rescheduled to this weekend.
Cobras vs Bees brought forwards
Initially scheduled for Week Ten, the Cardiff Cobras will host the Bath Killer Bees this Sunday in the first leg of an old school SWAC showdown!
Reading and Surrey flip fixtures
The Reading Knights were originally scheduled to host the Surrey Stingers this Saturday, but the two teams have agreed to flip their fixtures with the Stingers now playing host this Sunday, and then travelling to the Knights on Saturday 8 December when the Reading University team will host their Rocky Gayakaya memorial game.
Vikings vs Bombers slides back to Week Nine
Initially lined up to be played this weekend the Edge Hill Vikings will now host the Lancaster Bombers in February, Week Nine.
Teesside vs Sunderland shifts to Rain Week
The Teesside Cougars will not be hosting the Sunderland Spartans this weekend, as the fixture is pushed back to Rain Week - Sunday 20 January. The move means Teesside will only be playing two of their six fixtures this side of the midseason break, and are obviously gambling on good weather on the far side of Christmas!
Saturday fixtures for Week Three:
- University of Nottingham vs Derby Braves
- Birmingham Lions vs Swansea Titans (xpLosION)
- UWE Bullets vs Portsmouth Destroyers
