James Wilford Announced As Birmingham Lions DC Ahead of BUCS 18/19

The Birmingham Lions have announced Bristol Aztecs Defensive Coordinator and former Gloucestershire Gladiators Head Coach, James Wilford, as Defensive Coordinator for their 18/19 BUCS Campaign.

The move continues a transformation of the Lions’ coaching staff during this offseason, following the departure of Head Coach Wayne Hill at the end of the 2017/18 season, former Lions player Greg Freeman assuming the top spot at the Premiership South programme.

Coach Wilford shared with the Lions:

“I’m excited to be joining one of the best programmes in the U.K. and feel privileged to be given the role of Defensive Coordinator.

I’d like to thank Greg for giving me this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
