London Blitz U19s Star In New Efe Obada Nike Ad

The latest Nike ad… featuring none other than the British U19 National Champions, the London Blitz!

With scenes filmed at their home at Finsbury Park, Nike shared this is the first time they’ve filmed anything American Football-related outside the US!

Coach Adrian Klemens of the Blitz shared just how large a production this was, and what an incredible experience it was for the young Britballers involved:

The London Blitz are really excited about the relationship we have with Nike.

It started with Nike approaching the club for U19 players to be used in three photo campaigns; for Nike in-store promotion, NFL online and Fanatics online. It was the first time Nike had done a campaign outside of the US, with it styled in a ‘London’ fashion.

The players chosen had an incredible experience, and Nike were so excited about the results, that when Nike signed Efe Obada they wanted to do a commercial showing how anything is possible and how he is inspiring those in the UK, in particular, London. 25 players of the London Blitz U19 team were used in the commercial, with Eyram Avadzi being selected to be the ‘star’ of the commercial.

Nike flew out staff from the US to work with a local production company film the commercial, and overall it was an incredible experience. They brought in a rain machine (that required a fire engine to provide the water), an inflatable tunnel with smoke machines, pyrotechnician for the firework show and about 30 production staff. So a large scale production, which was really interesting to see and work behind the scenes.

This is the beginning of an exciting long-term relationship between the Blitz and Nike, and it’s a great sign that Nike and the NFL are producing content in the UK.”
